Httperf is a tool that tests the performance of your webserver(s). It allows you to adjust parameters to generate various types of HTTP request workloads. Along with generating the workloads it keeps track of response times (min, max and average), it also lets you know the response codes for the requests (2XX, 3XX, 4XX, 5XX) and supports https ssl calls.
This would connect to http://example.com/test/ 500 times at a rate of 5 connections per second and would timeout each request after 5 seconds.
httperf --server=example.com --port=80 --uri=/test/ --num-conns=500 --num-calls=1 --rate=5 --timeout=5
Performance Testing with Httperf Nice little tutorial that shows you how to analyze your servers logs, and reply that which is a good way of simulating a live example as well as a way of testing AJAX pages. The M in mervine is also an upside down wu-tang logo.(Comments)
