Generate an SSL CSR for Cert Authorities

Generate an SSL key

Use openssl to first generate an ssl key if you don't already have one to create the request for. We'll make it a 2048-bit rsa key in this case.

openssl genrsa -out 2048

Generate the certificate signing request (csr)

We'll use sha256 signature here.

openssl req -new -sha256 -key -out

That's it, now you can paste the contents or upload the csr to your certificate authority, and they'll send you the signed crt for the key. That is what will need to be installed on your servers/network equipment.
